Mower County District Court Warrants
Mower County is part of the 3rd Judicial District. The court in Austin issues all warrants for the county. Every warrant application must show probable cause. Under Minn. Stat. § 626.08, the officer files a sworn affidavit with details about the person, place, and items involved. The judge reviews it and makes a decision.
Under Minn. Stat. § 626.07, search warrants in Mower County can be issued for five reasons. These are: to recover stolen property, to seize items used in a crime, to confiscate contraband, to take items held with intent to commit a crime, or to gather evidence. The application must specify which ground applies. Judges do not sign warrants for reasons outside this list.
